IT HASN'T BEEN ALL RAINBOWS & LOLLYPOPS 🥴
Even with all my experience, IÂ was frustrated by the complexity and exclusivity of the financial world. The jargon, the judgment and the one-size-fits-all advice that left so many people out.
I wanted something different—something that felt real and actually helped people, no matter where they were starting from.
I didn't grow up with money. In fact, we had very little of it. I saw much more of what it was like to have zero money, than how to build it when I was a child. I knew from about age 7 that I didn't want that for my life.
SO I MADE A BIG CHANGE ✨
In 2017, I jumped out of my successful corporate career, flying all over the world to teach financial advisers and co-founded Fox & Hare Financial Advice, an award-winning, B Corp-certified business dedicated to helping people take control of their money with confidence.
It was incredible to see the impact and success of the business - but I knew there was still more to be done.
I watched on as the Royal Commission saw Financial Advisers leave in droves, whilst the cost to access financial advice rose, rapidly.
I had a long waitlist for people to see me - often waiting weeks (sometimes even months!); and for a large portion of those patient people, I turned them away because I didn't think they were in a financial position to pay our fees. I (and they), were frustrated.
I KNEW I NEEDED TO DO MOREÂ đź’Ł
As my mission grew, so did my passion for making financial education more accessible.
Knowing I was never going to be able to help the millions of Aussies who wanted and needed expert insights (because of capacity constrains and ironically, how expensive it is to get personal financial advice!), I put the wheels in motion to make change.
In 2020, I co-founded Ladies Talk Money, a free online platform designed to tackle systemic money barriers and create a safe space for women and non-binary people to talk about their financial futures. This experience opened my eyes even further to the urgent need for practical, no-BS financial education that empowers people to take action, but I knew there was more work to do.
THEN I CREATED A PROGRAM (THAT IS ACCESSIBLE & AFFORDABLE) FOR EVERYONE đź’•
I stepped away from one-on-one financial advice to focus on what I love most - teaching. I created The Greenhouse, a 10-week online program that gives you everything you need to build financial confidence and create a money strategy that fits your life and values. No jargon. No judgment. Just real, practical tools to help you take action.
